Day Dispatch

How long have you been in the air freight industry?

I started working in the air freight industry in November of 1981 for Roberts and Sons Cargo in Memphis, TN.  My starting salary was $25 per week and two tanks of gas for my car.  That was before faxes or computers, so we wrote down all our orders that were called in to us.

What is your primary job function at Easley?

I am primarily responsible for the dispatching and day operations at Easley, but since we are small company, I also help with billing, customer service, and whatever else needs to be done.

What do you like best about this industry?

I love the relationships and people that I have gotten to know over the years.

What do you like least?

Sometimes I don't enjoy dealing with the airlines and trying to keep up with all of the changing legal requirements associated with air freight.

What do you like to do when you are not moving freight?

I love raising horses and taking them to barrel races with my daughter.  I also enjoy some downtime at the beach with friends.

If you could meet anyone from history or today, who would it be?

Frank Widlowski.  He was my great grandfather.  My grandfather was a very cool man, and I have always wanted to meet his dad.  He actually came over to the U.S. from Poland in the early 1900s.
