Last week was National Driver Appreciation Week, and most companies in the industry celebrated it in one way or another. This is an important time of the year, because our drivers deserve to know how important they are to us and how influential they are to the lifeblood of this country.

This got us thinking though, is a week really enough time to show our love and support for our drivers? If you have ever spent time talking with someone that takes on the tough role of being a driver, you would know how these men and women are the salt of the earth. They are extremely hard workers that make our entire economy breathe. It’s inspiring to see the grit and grind that these tough people invest into their jobs every day.

Take, for instance, Reggie Reed. He is one of our veteran intermodal drivers. This man is constantly working to make his job flawless and add value to the community. He also happens to have an infamous alter ego named Bobby Reed (check it out here). Reggie brings such a positive attitude and energy to our team and to many of our customers. If you ever get a chance to talk with Reggie, you’ll find that you are talking to one of the wisest and most encouraging men you’ve ever met.

Ronda Medlin, who is another driver on our team, epitomizes a strong woman. She is one of the kindest people that you will meet. She also raised a hard-working family that has learned and emulated her best traits, making our community a better place because of her hard work and dedication. You wont find a better dedicated driver anywhere.

These are just two drivers of the many we could highlight. Their stories deserve to be known because their collective stories are the backbone of Easley’s culture. They represent what we call Tribal Love. This is why we are declaring the entire month of September as Driver Appreciation Month!
